Heritage Tree Award

The Town of Woodside appreciates the beauty of our natural setting and encourages the care and nurturing of special trees. The Town awards annual certificates of recognition to owners of heritage trees and a yard sign to display next to the tree, based upon size, condition, and care. A heritage tree is:

  • A tree of historic significance or
  • A tree with a circumference of 75 inches (measured 48 inches above the natural grade) or
  • A group of trees indigenous to California.

If you are interested in nominating a tree or trees for the 2026 Heritage Tree Award, please return the Nomination Form (link included below) by April 5 for the May Day award announcements.
