Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems

Submittal requirements for eligible roof mounted Solar PV systems rated 10kw and under and Solar hot water heating. To ensure a complete submittal, the following information shall be included with your permit application:

  1. Complete the permit application found Application for Building Permit (PDF).
  2. Download the Eligibility Checklist (PDF). (If you answer no to any of the questions on the checklist, the submittal does not qualify for expedited plan check).
  3. Download the Submittal Requirements (PDF)
  4. Plans shall be a minimum of 11 by 17, all details on plans shall be legible and all writing on plans shall be a minimum size 10 font and legible.
  5. Permit application and documents can be submitted by emailing the Project Managers.
  6. Fees: Permit fee shall be received by the Town prior to review of submittal application. Credit cards are not accepted.

Energy Storage Systems (ESS)

Energy storage systems (ESS) are required to be listed and installed to UL 9540 and all other applicable codes. Depending on the ESS being installed a 3-foot separation is required on all sides of the ESS (front, back, top, bottom, and sides). Please see the related documents below for these requirements.

This handout is designed for the average submittal. Each project is individual, additional submittal requirements and or information might be necessary based on the actual scope of the project.
