January 16, 2025 Workshop - Safety Tips for Older Adults

The Town of Woodside sponsored a workshop on How to Prevent Falls at home. Topics covered included: (1) steps you can take in your home to make it safe from kitchen to bedroom, bathroom to outdoors; (2) how some simple hardware devices and home repairs can reduce the likelihood of falling; (3) services available for older adults at the San Mateo County Adult Services Department, and; (4) information and services available for older adults at the San Mateo County Library.

March 20, 2025 Workshop - Woodside and Portola Valley Crime Updates

Preventing crime is crucial for residents of Woodside and Portola Valley. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department patrols Woodside and Portola Valley24/7 to help protect residents. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department reported on crimes committed in Woodside and Portola Valley and how to prevent them. They also spoke about how to prevent identity theft. Come by Woodside Town Hall to pick up handouts provided at the workshop. 

May 22, 2025 Workshop - Wildfire Preparedness

Being prepared for a wildfire is important for our residents in Woodside and Portola Valley.

The Woodside Fire Protection District and Emergency Preparedness Committee provided information on lessons learned from the Los Angeles wildfires, home hardening tips, the Chipper program, and emergency contact procedures.
