Road Construction Notice - Old La Honda RoadStarting Tuesday, March 3 One Lane May be ClosedThe Town of Woodside's contractor, Altor Construction, is scheduled to commence construction on March 3, 2026, of various drainage improvements on Old La Honda Road within the public right of way between 207 Old La Honda Road and 320 Old La Honda Road. No full road closures are planned; however, motorists and cyclists should expect minor delays. At times, there may be a lane closure or construction activity necessitating flaggers near the work area. The project is expected to take 5 to 7 weeks to complete. For questions on the project, residents can contact the Town of Woodside at 650-851-6790.

Nominate a Tree for the Woodside Heritage Tree AwardApplications Due by Sunday, April 5A Heritage Tree is large, has unique value, and is considered irreplaceable. The Town of Woodside appreciates the beauty of our natural setting and encourages the care and nurturing of special trees. The Town awards annual certificates of recognition to owners of heritage trees, based upon size, conditions, and care. The Heritage Tree program focuses on the identification of specimen trees, promotes tree awareness, advocates for the protection of mature tree benefits, and educates community members about the Towns Heritage Trees. Award Criteria The Town awards certificates of recognition annually to owners of heritage trees, based on the size and condition of the trees and the care they have received. Eligible trees—including Quercus (oak), Sequoia (redwood) or Cedrus (cedar)—are judged by the Heritage Tree committee and meet one or more of the following criteria: outstanding specimen, unique in size, age, species, or historical significance. Awards may also be given for the best preserved tree and the best newly planted tree. Applications are collected on an annual basis. If you are interested in nominating a tree or trees for the Heritage Tree Award, please visit www.woodsideca.gov/hta for an application and return it by Sunday, April 5. Awards will be announced during the Woodside May Day event.

Woodside Fire Launches Online Scheduling for InspectionsWoodside Fire has introduced a new, convenient way to schedule your fire safety inspections online! - Easily book your Home Assessments to help us complete zones 1–4 and move forward to zones 9–12, ensuring every parcel in our fire district is assessed.
- Schedule your AB38 Fire Safety Real Estate Disclosure inspections—just pay your fees first, then book your appointment.
- Homeowners participating in the Town of Woodside Matching Fund Program, or the Los Trancos County Maintenance District Incentive Program can also schedule their required Defensible Space inspections online.

Highway 101 and State Route 92 Interchange Nighttime Ramp ClosureMonday, March 2 between 9 pm and 5 amLocal drivers should plan for several overnight ramp closures as Caltrans continues bridge, sign, and paving work at the US101/SR92 interchange. From Monday, March 2 through Friday, March 6 overnight closures (8 pm to 6 am) will impact the southbound US101 off-ramps to Fashion Island Boulevard and westbound SR92. Detours will direct drivers to use eastbound SR92 and exit at Mariner's Island Boulevard. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check for the lates updates before heading out. As of 2/27/26, the closure is scheduled for Monday, March 2: WB 92 to SB 101. The westbound SR-92 off-ramp to southbound U.S. 101 will be closed to complete bridge concrete placement. The closure will start at 9 p.m. and finish by 5:00 a.m. Detour: Take the loop off-ramp to Delaware St, turn right on Concar, turn right onto South Delaware, merge onto eastbound SR-92 and access the off-ramp to southbound U.S. 101. County Controller Publishes Property Tax Highlights for FY 2024-25The San Mateo County Controller has released the Property Tax Highlights for FY 2024–25, offering a clear breakdown of how the 1 percent General Tax and other property tax revenues are distributed across the county. In FY 2024–25, combined property taxes totaled $4.1 billion, a 6 percent increase that helps fund local cities, school districts, special districts, and essential County services. “It’s important that we provide taxpayers and residents visibility into the local tax dollars they pay and where those local dollars go,” said County Controller Juan Raigoza. Get Ready for the First Town Clean Up Day of 2026!Saturday, March 7, from 8 to 11 amPlease review the sample postcard and load your vehicle accordingly. This event is free for Town of Woodside residents - please bring the original postcard received in the mail as proof of residency. GreenWaste is asking that residents containerize or bundle their yard trimmings.* Hazardous materials are not accepted. Please note that hazardous materials are not accepted at the Town Clean Up Day. Please call the County of San Mateo Household Hazardous Waste Program at 650-363-4718 or visit the County's website to schedule a drop-off appointment. What do to do with old medications? Medications are not accepted at the Town Clean Up Day, but you can visit med-project.org for a list of over 50 convenient kiosk drop-off locations, or to request a mail-back package if you are a disabled or homebound resident. *Containerizing or Bundling = branches bundled together with rope or twine and loose leaves and clippings containerized in bags or carts. Bundled or containerized yard trimmings makes loading the material into trucks safer for GreenWaste’s staff and helps the Clean Up run smoothly and efficiently. The Life-Changing Impacts of Food RecoveryTuesday, March 10 from 7 to 8:30 pmBurlingame Community Center, 850 Burlingame AvenueDid you know that food waste sent to landfills is responsible for 58% of California’s methane emissions? You’re invited to a free program on Tuesday, March 10, where you can learn how to decrease these harmful emissions and provide meals to San Mateo County residents in need. Presented by the Citizens Environmental Council, this event will be held from 7 to 8 pm at the Burlingame Community Center. There is no charge for admission, but pre-registration is required. “The Life-Changing Impacts of Food Recovery” features Jack Steinmann, Resource Conservation Specialist with San Mateo County’s Office of Sustainability, and Maria Yap, founder and Executive Director of Peninsula Food Runners, which rescues surplus food and delivered more than 4 million meals to people in need during 2025. Jack, who has been involved with food recovery since 2015, will explain how food waste impacts our county’s greenhouse gas emissions and what the county is doing to decrease those effects. Maria will tell the story of Peninsula Food Runners, which she launched in 2013, and how it is powered by the goodwill of volunteers and donors. The Citizens Environmental Council’s mission is to champion regional sustainability through education, advocate for environmental and climate policies, and empower young environmental leaders.
